2003 - E-stahl Limited is founded
In 2003, a metal and plastic goods business was set up in my parents' house in Sohren. A garage with an extension could be used as a warehouse on the property. The office was in the basement. To avoid confusion with companies of the same name and to identify with our own products, we chose as the company name: E-stahl. Incidentally, the E stands for e-business. We chose an English limited company as the legal form because the administrative procedures were faster than for a German limited liability company. However, there is a prejudice that English limited companies only have a share capital of 1 euro. To avoid this prejudice, E-stahl Ltd. was founded with a share capital of 40,000 euros. The managing director, Sven Marx, a trained metal industry foreman, worked for many years in metal construction (specialising in design engineering) and at a leading global technology company in the field of drive and chassis technology. With entrepreneurial thinking and action, as well as an open mind towards everything new, the foundation was laid for today's company. The unloading point must be accessible to a large truck (41 tonnes). The staircase must be unloaded on site with a forklift truck.
2006 - Relocation of the warehouse
In 2006, our warehouse in our parents' house became too small and we decided to move. We were now being supplied daily by lorries and articulated lorries, so we could no longer expect our neighbours to put up with this. Our warehouse moved to the Felke industrial park in Sohren.
2007 Certification by TÜV-Rheinland
In 2007, we decided to seek certification according to DIN ISO9001 from TÜV Rheinland. E-stahl is one of the first companies in the industry to be certified according to DIN ISO9001, and it took only a few months. To this day, quality remains one of the company's top priorities.
2007 - Relocation of office and warehouse
Since our office had no space for further employees, we moved our office to the former primary school in Büchenbeuren. The classrooms were perfectly suited as an office. Our rented warehouse in the Felke industrial park was to be sold. So we moved our range of goods to a former supermarket in Sohren, 3 km away.
- 2010 - new building in the Büchenbeuren industrial estate
In 2010, our company relocated to a modern new building at its current location in the Büchenbeuren industrial park. This measure proved to be entrepreneurially far-sighted, as it enabled further long-term growth. It also shortened the distances between the warehouse and office building. Our contribution to a cleaner environment was to heat the entire company building with a heat pump.
2011 - Expansion of the open space
We are expanding our open-air exhibition space by a further 3,000 square metres to a total of 6,000 square metres.
2012 - Installation of a photovoltaic system
In 2012, we decided to install a photovoltaic system on the roof of our hall.
2013 - 10th anniversary
E-stahl celebrates its 10th anniversary and thanks all its customers, suppliers and employees for their many years of loyalty.
2014 - New aluminium circular saw goes into operation
Our aluminium processing plant is putting an ELUMATEC aluminium circular saw with pneumatic material clamping, a stop and a measuring system with a digital display into operation.
2015 - Fleet expansion
Purchase of a new flatbed trailer with a tarpaulin body for the safe transport of material up to 6000 mm in length.
2016 - We get our own transformer station
Our production plant could not be operated at our house connection due to the excessive power.
So we had to get our own transformer station with 400KVA power.
A 20,000 volt cable with a length of 300 metres was laid to us for the connection.
Many thanks also to Westnetz for the professional implementation.
